Before Your First Wear:
DIY Adjustments:
Adjustable leg opening:
Our costumes come with adjustable elastic at the leg openings. To adjust the elastic to your preferred tightness, pull the elastic firmly to your desired tightness, sew in place, and tuck the excess elastic back into the opening. Throughout the lifespan of your costume, you may adjust this elastic as you see fit.
Adjustable straps:
If your costume has straps, we leave them loose in the back for you to adjust them to your preferred tightness. Once you find your desired strap length, please sew the straps in place (No hook and eyes please! We don’t want any accidents!). Once sewn you may trim the excess or may simply tuck the excess inside your costume when wearing in case you’d like to let them out later.
Cleaning:
We don’t recommend laundering or dry cleaning your costume as it will damage our specialty fabrics. To keep the costume fresh - spot clean trouble areas after each wear using a 50/50 solution of dish soap & hydrogen peroxide or a mild detergent specifically formulated for athletic wear, cold water, and a clean white towel for sponging and blotting. Do not iron.
Fabric Care:
Please be aware that some specialty materials such as sequin fabrics and beaded trim are especially delicate. If you notice any broken strands, hand-stitch around the broken strands to prevent further unraveling.
Alterations:
We provide alteration services on all of our costumes with associated costs depending on the alteration. Please visit our website and fill out our support form to further inquire and we will follow up with half a century’s worth of fit knowledge and alteration recommendations/solutions. We have a lot of magic tricks to extend the lifespan of your costume.
