Sketch to Stage in 5 Steps

Every Show Off costume is designed and built around your individual vision. Fully custom costumes (unstoned) typically range from $450 to $1,000+, depending on the sport, materials, quantity, and complexity. Production begins after final approval, measurements, and payment, with a minimum four-week turnaround. Complex and high-volume orders may require 12 weeks or more.

Upload any inspiration images, sketches, color references, uniforms, or details that help communicate your direction. They do not need to show the exact costume—the goal is to help us understand your taste, performance needs, and priorities.

After we review your intake, you’re welcome to book a virtual design consultation. This is the time to finalize your concept, discuss fabrics, colors, silhouette, coverage, movement requirements, and any special design details.

Your designer may arrive with a preliminary sketch or develop the concept with you during the call. You can also ask questions about pricing, fit, production, and what to expect throughout the process. Because this conversation establishes the creative direction, major concept changes cannot be made afterward.

Your vision is translated into a custom sketch created specifically for you or your team. Along with the sketch, you’ll receive your price quote and estimated turnaround time based on the design, materials, quantity, and requested delivery date.

This is your opportunity to review the full concept and request refinements before approval. Once approved, the design and production price are finalized so your costume can move confidently into the next stage.

Measurements may be submitted at any point during the design process, but they must be completed before production can begin. Our guided online measurement form provides clear instructions for every step.

Accurate measurements are essential to creating a costume that fits securely, moves comfortably, and looks polished in performance. For team orders, each performer should be measured carefully and consistently.

Once your design is approved, measurements are complete, and payment has been received, your production slot is reserved. Your costume is then handcrafted in our Illinois studio using the materials and construction details selected for your design.

When production is complete, your costume is carefully prepared and shipped to the address provided—ready for rehearsal, competition, game day, or the stage.
